The Extremis pop-up museum at Salone del Mobile unveiled some of the most iconic Extremis species… uh… pieces and revealed the mysteries and stories behind each piece of furniture. Visitors could solve the puzzle and discover the unique stories behind each design by walking through the life-size dioramas. Were you one of the sharp-eyed visitors that discovered the hunting skills of the Acacia or the insomnia of Sol+Luna?
This was our Natural Mistery Museum
Surprising multifunctionalty to discover
At the heart of every Extremis furniture piece is a function designed to serve the users. The surprising multifunctionality, intelligent solutions and key values are hidden behind non-intrusive aesthetics and need to be explained so that visitors can discover their full potential. In order to reveal their secrets, inspire visitors and give them an experience to treasure, Extremis brought a few of its iconic pieces to a pop-up museum at the Salone del Mobile.
Vivid re-creations of the natural world
Extremis pieces can be found worldwide. They are able to survive in any environment, from extremely hot to very wet climates. They are all capable of withstanding the rigours of time and exposure to the elements. Durability is built into the aesthetics of each and every creature. Natural beauties, even when they age...
Exploring a natural habitat reveals what's unknown.
A museum for explorers
Ten very different furniture species were displayed in our unique pop-up museum. The tactile dioramas in the East and West Wings displayed the furniture in its natural habitat: from city centres to white sandy beaches. The impressive white Grand Hall was the main entrance where you could find the Museum Bar and ‘the dinosaur’ of the Extremis collection: Gargantua.
