Filips’ favorite furniture
Poperinge, Belgium
At home, Virus, Acacia, Hopper, Picnik
This beautiful garden lies in the shadow of the city and the old pastoral townhouse. Filip, the homeowner is a huge Extremis fan. So, he invited us on a warm summer afternoon and proudly showed us his very own Extremis showroom surrounded by climbing vines and stonework.
Lucky bastards we are!
Aged wood and great stories
The Hopper picnic with white legs was Filips' first Extremis piece. It actually survived a big fire that happened here a couple of years ago. “Though the house was almost completely ruined, we were relieved to see the Hopper table intact”, his words exactly...
Over the years Filip has shared countless jokes, secrets, and stories sitting at this table, while the iroko hardwood of the Hopper has aged along beautifully. It doesn’t show stains or traces of the wild nights with friends he’s mentioning, of which he’d rather not share the details. Judging by the crafty look on his face, this man knows how to throw a party!

White design furniture and lots of greenery
In this microclimate yard, the Virus table with Acacia parasol provides an extra spot to sit and enjoy some shade. “It’s wonderful how the furniture blends in with the curves of the garden architecture and natural shapes of the plants and trees.”
His favorite piece? The Picnik table! He likes how it is almost sculptural against the brick wall and climbing vines. He loves having breakfast at it with his wife.
We hope Filip invites us back soon!
