Outdoor space inside a 16th-century chapel
Tools for togetherness

This 16th-century chapel 'De Waterhond' in the center of Sint-Truiden was given a new use in 2016 as a work and exhibition space for the architects of Klaarchitectuur. The protected monument underwent a thorough renovation and now combines the old character of the original building with modern additions by architect Gregory Nijs.

The four stacked boxes, which serve as an office and conference room, transform the inner space of the chapel into the outdoor space of the office. A staircase complex around the boxes provides an extra experience. The black Hopper picnic looks stunning on the original natural stone floor, which features a diagonal cross pattern.
