We had a lovely weekend at Dwell on Design in LA. We had 20+ Extremis pieces in the Dwell Outdoor section of the tradeshow. Our neighbors were Autocamp which is a ‘glamping’ company in Northern California. They restore vintage airstreams and people can rent them out for a weekend. It was an outdoor setting with a live campfire (by Sticks & Stones a canadian brand), Extremis and Autocamp. We created our own real glamping area with air streams and beautiful furniture. It was the best part of the tradeshow where people would come hang out, sit together and stay warm by the fire. Then, there was a theater section where our friends from the Architecture & Design Film Festival showed films about iconic architects and designers while sitting on our furniture and spending time in the caravans of Happier Camper. Happier Camper was founded by a guy named Derek who was collecting 60’s vintage camper vans and renting them out to people in La. He started to collect feedback of what people liked and didn’t like about the vans and then decided to start making his own and now they are selling all over the country, and the world. It was a weekend of likeminded designers and friends all with a common goal of bringing people together.
